Through our online, self-paced experience—led by the GuideHost you choose—your family will reflect on what matters most, arriving at a beautifully crafted Family Guidepostt o display at home. By clarifying your values, you gain a shared compass to guide life’s big and small decisions.

Your annual subscription includes:

• An online, guided process with a dedicated GuideHost
• Three custom-written versions of your Guidepost text (choose one and make edits)
• Your final 16" x 20" Guidepost in a style of your choice, professionally printed on heavy-duty archival paper 
• Modern magnetic hanging wooden frame (in one of three color options)
• Quarterly, personalized ideas to help you live out your Guidepost as your family evolves
  
  After 12 months, you can choose to renew if you’d like an updated Guidepost for the next year.

1. Choose Your GuideHost: From our roster, select a GuideHost whose style resonates with your family.
2. Gather Everyone for ~1 Hour: While the experience is “self-paced,” we recommend scheduling one sitting (about an hour) where your entire family discusses a series of purposeful questions together.
3. Collaborate as a Family: You’ll talk through each prompt collectively,  ensuring everyone feels heard and aligned in real time.
4. Drafting Your Guidepost: Our expert team uses these shared insights to craft three versions of your Guidepost text. You choose the version that feels most authentic, request any edits, then pick your frame color and Guidepost style.

The Guidepost Co. is a powerful tool for any and all families. We believe families of all backgrounds, traditions, religions, ages, and makeups benefit from clarifying and celebrating your unique values, and fostering deeper connection. This includes newlyweds, empty-nesters, expecting parents, couples without children, chosen family....family of any kind!

Each family handles their Guidepost experience differently - while we always recommend that adults in the family participate,  we find late-elementary age is a good baseline for more in-depth dialogue about values, hopes, and aspirations. Younger children can still be present, but we wouldn't expect that they may not fully engage with extended conversations. We encourage older siblings and adults to participate at whatever level feels comfortable for everyone involved.

1. Reflect & Discuss: Through your Guidepost experience, you’ll collectively discover the key family values and priorities that everyone agrees are important through a tested interactive experience
2. Receive Three Drafts: Our expert team transforms your answers and insights into three original written versions of a custom family Guidepost
3. Choose & Edit: Pick your favorite draft, request any changes, and finalize your text.
4. Design & Frame: Select one of our three design styles and choose from three frame colors (included in the subscription).

Print & Ship: We print your 16" x 20" Guidepost on archival paper, fit it with a magnetic frame, and ship it to you.

In addition to a custom family Guidepost, you'll also receive completely custom ideas to help bring your Guidepost to life on a quarterly basis. These ideas are totally unique to your family and are based on: 

• Your family’s chosen values
• Ages and interests of any children in the household
• Relevant life seasons (holidays, school transitions, etc.)

This helps you actively live out your Guidepost, ensuring it remains a vibrant part of daily life rather than just a pretty piece on the wall. You'll receive new ideas every four months during your subscription.

Renewing is optional. Your initial subscription covers a full year of custom ideas and support, including the printing and framing of your first Guidepost. After that, you can renew if you’d like an updated Guidepost - we recommend each family revisit the Guidepost experience on a yearly basis. 

If you gift a Guidepost, your recipient will receive an invitation to renew at the conclusion of their year, if they would like to refresh their Guidepost or continue receiving custom ideas.

We take privacy very seriously. Your family’s reflections and data are encrypted and confidential, and we never sell or distribute your data to third parties.

We’ve designed the process to be approachable and fun. Your GuideHost will provide prompts that spark natural, inclusive dialogue—ensuring every family member feels safe sharing. Even one thoughtful conversation can uncover powerful insights that shape your Guidepost.

Our experience has shown time and time again that teens often appreciate the opportunity to voice their opinions when they see their thoughts actually matter, especially if it's not their parents asking the questions. Involving them in picking the Guidehost, the final Guidepost style or letting them lead one of the discussion prompts can enhance engagement.
