How does the process work?

The Guidepost experience begins with a short, guided reflection you can complete on your own time. In about 30–60 minutes, you respond to a handful of thoughtful, approachable questions — by text, audio, or video — designed to surface what matters most to your family. There’s nothing heavy or complicated; you show up once, and we take it from there. Our team carefully reviews your reflections, looking for the themes and language already woven into your story, and handcrafts three custom Guidepost options for you to choose from. After you select the one that resonates most — along with the style and frame that fits your home — we print your Guidepost on archival-quality paper, frame it, and ship it to your door. Displayed where your family gathers, it becomes a living touchstone you can return to when life gets noisy or a season shifts — not just a keepsake, but a daily reminder of what guides you.

Should just adults participate? What age do you recommend for children to join the conversation?

Each family handles their Guidepost experience differently - while we always recommend that adults in the family participate,  we find late-elementary age is a good baseline for more in-depth dialogue about values, hopes, and aspirations. Younger children can still be present, but we wouldn't expect that they may not fully engage with extended conversations. We encourage older siblings and adults to participate at whatever level feels comfortable for everyone involved.

Can I gift a Guidepost?

Whether it’s for a family with teenagers, newlyweds, expectant parents, or your employees, The Guidepost Co. is an incredibly meaningful and impactful gift. Your can gift just the digital experience, or for $129, you can add a premium Connection Box for an in-person reveal.

We don't have kids. Is it worth it?

Absolutely. A Guidepost is about clarifying shared goals and values for any stage of life—children or not. Whether you’re newly married, empty nesters, or somewhere in between, this exercise can strengthen your connection and sense of purpose.

How do you protect my family’s personal information?

We take privacy very seriously. Your family’s reflections and data are encrypted and confidential, and we never sell or distribute your data to third parties.

Do you offer refunds?

At this time, all sales are final. Because each Guidepost is deeply personalized to your family’s input, we do not issue refunds. If you have any concerns about your order, reach out to us so we can address them directly.
